After watching Korean movie YMCA Baseball team, I thought of a similar story described in an upcoming Taiwan movie called “KANO”. It recorded how a high school baseball team formed by Taiwanese, Japanese, aborigine, wins games after games over other Japanese baseball teams. The movie is still in the process of producing, but it has caught the attention of many. The Jia-Yi City of Taiwan financially supports the production of the movie because the story happened in Jai-Yi in 1930s. The movie offers another point of view of how people who lived under the Japanese regiment connect with each other through sports. The movie will be out in 2014. One thing worth mentioned is the movie is directed by Wei De Sheng, the director of Cape No. 7 and Warriors of the Rainbow, two popular Taiwan movies. The background of baseball in the Japanese colonial era can be found:

Thanks Simon. May be students can compare/contrast these movies.
