I was just reading my current issue of Global Rhythm [April 2007] and the last page was photos of last years CalArts World Music Event. The subject of the photos were of Balinese and Javanese dancers. A huge band of traditional instruments backing the dancers. It looks cool. So, I checked the website:

WORLD MUSIC FESTIVAL 2007: Led by Djoko Walujo with dance direction by Nanik Wenten and I Nyoman Wenten, the Javanese gamelan Kyai Doro Dasih (“The Honorable Dream Come True”) presents ravishing music and dance associated with four Kratons (courts) across Java: Kesultanan of Yogyakarta, Kesunanan of Surakarta, Pura Pakualaman, and the Mangkunegaran Palace. Featuring guest dancer and choreographer Begawan Ciptoning.
