USC Pacific Asia Museum
I was unfortunately unable to make it to one of our sessions due to some custody issues that I have been facing. I was very sad to miss the sessions I missed. I know that I lost out on some very interesting information, however it allowed me the opportunity to go to the USC Pacific Asia Museum. I had never been able to go before.
One thing as a teacher I feel like i have always needed is more pictures and visuals to show my students, I teach 6th and 7th grade social studies and coming here allowed me to get pictures of artifacts that I thought would be very useful to add into my lesson plans. I really enjoyed getting pictures and being able to see all of these different things from buddhist artifacts, to Japanese literati paints, to different Korean paintings, textiles and ceramics. I feel like the visuals i was able to get are really going to impact my teaching, I really like to add visuals whenever possible. I really enjoyed coming here and I think this would be a very cool place to bring students on as a field trip.
