Thank you for sharing this site, Al. I went to the site and checked the Education section as well and navigated through the Teach subtopic. When l got there, I found that it had several projects that educators can use. There are several topics that can be covered. The great part about it is that there is a snippet of information for each project. The downside is that if you are looking for a lesson plan that gives you step by step procedures this is not where to find it. The information was valuable though, because there is much more information that an educator can gather to put together resources.

The International Dunhuang Project is an international clearinghouse for information on the Eastern Silk Road and is based at the British Library. The Education Section of the website is for teachers. The webpage is coordinated through specific projects and a menu of the projects is offered. For example, under the category of Chinese astronomy there is information as a general overview and then there is a section for Classroom Ideas and Activities (wallchart/star chart with the corresponding lesson plan). The other category that comes with lesson plans is the Buddhism Education Pack. The other categories are chalk full of information that can be adapted into a lesson plan and larger curriculum unit.

Thank You! I teach 6th and 7th grade history, and i am always looking for more things I can do with the silk road. I looked at the education section and already saw a few things that I would like to use of modify for next year. I am very excited to keep searching through this resource and see what else I can add in!
