"About Japan" http://aboutjapan.japansociety.org/ is a website by the Japan Society that is billed as a teacher's resource. The resource site is broken into the following categories: globalization, culture, Japanese language, environment, history, and social issues. Under each category, there are search functions that include image, article, video, and lesson plans. When searching lesson plans for history, "Imperial Democracy and Colonial Expansion, 1890-1945" is available as a unit with five lesson plans. The website is easily searchable for content area, and I like how an educator can use the image function to find images to show in class for class discussion. Secondary sources are available through hyperlink, but the primary reading sources are anthologies/literature/history texts that would need to be purchased in advance. Common Core standards are addressed, essential questions, and activities. The website can be used by students in order to use technology to access the secondary sources, images, etc.
