So I've been hearing conflicting things about the food there. Is it or is it not safe to buy food from the food stands that's scattered all around the city streets? Some have said that it's not safe and that it'll result in stomach discomfort and others claim, why not? the locals eat it, why can't we especially since we are going there for a cultural experience. What do you all take from it?

Each person will have to determine whether or not their stomachs are strong enough to eat the food sold at local stands. I ate from those stalls and had no trouble but have heard stories of others not faring as well. My best advice, which Prof. Yan also suggests, is that you wait a week before eating from those stalls in order to let your stomach and body adjust to the climate and the food.
