The forum is fairly easy to use. The fact that you are reading this is proof of that. Still, some may appreciate a systematic introduction to contributing posts and so on. The attached guide provides this help. It is in .pdf format. To download the attachment, just click on the small icon below the message (it looks like a folder in a vise).

To open and read it, you will need the free Adobe Acrobat reader. Your computer probably already has it installed. If not, please go to Adobe Acrobat Reader (free download).

The forum is very easy to use. I am looking forward to exchanging information and learning about East Asia. I teach many students from East Asia and with East Asian roots. I hope that learning more about this culture will help to bridge the cultural gap that I feel in the classroom. It is very important to me to be able to understand and use the Asian culture to create a comfortable and inviting learning environment. Thank you for your time and effort. The students in Torrance are very lucky to be a part of a district that cares enough to bridge the gap.

I 100% agree with what you have just said. It is very important that teachers are constantly challenged with new ideas/materials, especially in their subject matter. I believe that all of our students will greatly benefit from the knowlegde that we, as their teachers, gain during this course. It would be ideal if we could do this type of class for all the various cultures/civilzations that we teach. Ideal, though, is the key word. But for now, we have much to learn about East Asia. Look forward to it.
