At the last class we talked about the roles of geisha girls. I have tried to find a description on the roles of geishas. I was able to find info on the make-up, clothes but not much else. one sight described how well trained they were on entertainment, dancing and talking. Does anyone have more to add.
geisha girls in japan are women entertainers. i believe that they japanese do not look upon geisha girls as most americans do, high class prostitutes. it is no dishonor to the person or a family to be a geisha girl, as they must undergo much learning of ritual and ways of pleasing, in all senses-intellectual, social, personal etc. that's all i know about it. it's interesting though isn't it? see you tuesday!
Hi, Geisha girls are paid! They are generally employees of the tea house. When you describe what they do, it seems they are similar to an escort service, however they elevated entertaining to a higher level. Training is an important part of their background as well as rituals. Our Western perception of this personalized entertainment reflects on our own experiences.
