I wonder how much the translation of the various fiction/folktale pieces has to do with my reception. We all know the stereotype of the inscrutable Asian, but I found the fiction hard to read. Hard to find the "voice" of the author. The parallels to the lectures are clear enough and the content is interesting, but there is not the sense of author..this is missing to me. Rebecca
