Cindy, Jayme and Kristen! Here is our thread. Our topic is communism in China. We're going to find evidence of what communism means to the people of China.
Here are some of the things we talked about for our video:
Examples of communist propaganda throughout China
Examples of "The Cult of Mao": (Is Chairman Mao Zedong really loved today or is it more of marketing/commercialized joke?)
The huge picture of Mao in Beijing: Why?
"Where's Mao?" game
Interviews with students to see the impact of communism on education
Interviews with regular Chinese people to determine the impact of communism on the average person living in China.
Interviews to determine if democracy is something that the average Chinese person wants
Video footage of markets/shops in China to show how important capitalism is in China today. Are capitalism and communism compatible?
Before we go, we should video some of our students asking questions like: Who is Mao? Is China still a communist nation? How is more popular, Yao Ming or Mao? What does a communist toilet look like?
