Ducksters Education Site has resources for studying ancient China that are accessible for elementary school students. This was recommended to me by my Mandarin language teaching partner as a resource she uses to supplement instruction done in class. The site features sections that provide information on dynasties, culture, important figures, and significant events. What I like about this site is that it is easy to navigate. Information is presented in kid friendly language and include images to support understanding of the content. Many of the pages include a recorded reading that can be helpful for struggling readers to still engage in the content and learn new vocabulary. Some of the pages also include multiple choice quizzes that can help students review the content presented. Some ways I could use this site with my third graders is as a resource tool for research. I could also print different pages and use it as follow up reading for content that I present in class.
