The website I explored was the University of Colorado, Boulder’s Program for Teaching East Asia’s website linked here: https://www.colorado.edu/ptea/. There are a few things that were helpful about this website: 

• TEA Online Curriculum Projects

  • This page provides five curriculum projects focused on Japanese history. These projects range from ancient to modern Japanese history, providing materials and fully developed lessons/mini-units. Some of these projects range from essays to give students as background reading, primary sources to dig into the era, or visuals for kids to examine. 

• TEA Resource Center

  • This is particularly helpful for Colorado based teachers who can access the university’s collections on the history and cultures of China, Japan, and Korea.

• Links

  • This page rounds up major organizations providing resources and opportunities for K-12 educators. This page is divided into three sections: Arts & Humanities, Curriculum, and Resource Centers & Programs. Under the Arts & Humanities section, they’ve included the Boston Children’s Museum, which would be helpful as I teach in a Boston suburb, so it would be possible to visit the museum as a field trip or have students use their online resources in the classroom. The Curriculum section has links to both Columbia and Stanford’s pages, and the Asian American Curriculum Project which would provide some cool opportunities for U.S. history teachers and students.
