This site allows students to explore important stops on the Silk Road, starting in Constantinople and working east towards China. Each stop provides some photos of the area, as well as a summary of the location. I think this would work great as a creative journalling project where students pick their route and write about some of the sites, cultures, or cities they visit as they travel.
