I teach 7th grade ELA; however, there are a few stories in our textbook that allow for history of certain Chinese topic. I did Ribbons by Lawrence Yelp and I researched 'foot binding" which proved to be an excellent hook into the lesson and it wakened a real thrist for more from the students.

I teach 6th grade ancient civilizations and I've found this site to be informative and engaging for my students. It is very kid friendly. http://www.mrdonn.org/ancienthistory.html
