The first time I visited Angel Island after college, I was shocked that so many students, myself included, were not taught about this aspect of California history. I wanted to create a lesson for my United States History class that I could use to share this controversial part of history with them.

I liked the presentation. Very informative and engaging. It is somewhat strange that many US history classes taught in California focus heavily on European immigration through Ellis Island, but immigration through Angel Island is somewhat of a footnote.
