    Cathy,
I haven't finished looking through the list of books from CDE that I handed out last meeting. I am sure some of those would fit the bill. If I come across any more, I'll be sure to share.

    Hi,

I found 2 great books at Barnes & Noble yesterday that are now going to go on my list of books to get with the funding we receive at the end of this seminar.

Images from the Floating World: The Japanese Print

    Hiroshige: 100 Views of Edo

Hope you & your kids enjoy them too!

    Amy,
I was thinking of having he students create a city or village based on some information on Chinese culture, an art project of sorts. We could do some creative writing and/or some cause and effect and/or comparison writing here too. I see this as a good multi-level project. Want in?

    Becky,
I love the sound of that. What a great idea! What are you going to use as background information etc. for them to bounce off and create their city? Would they draw it or build it? That sounds so neat. Count me in!

The MFA in Boston has a fantastic collection of Art related to China and Japan. Their collection is on line and is a great resource for showing students examples of art...the site is http://www.mfa.org...It can be a really big help especially for middle school and high school students in the area of visuals!
