Reading over this article was enlightening for me. Chay Yew is both a playwright and a director of many Asian-American stories and plots. in this interview, he expressed a lot of Asian-American pride, and proved that expression of one's culture and history can come in many forms. He believed that the most prominent ways for Asian-Americans to tell their stories are through novels or plays because these mediums are easist as opposed to TV and movies which he feels "are not controlled by Asians."

I found this interesting because one of my aunts is a writer, and she performs storeis that she writes in front of growing audiences. And she's just a living example of how Asian-Americans are getting their foot into different mediums of art and expression. She's written a couple of stories aobut her experiences in Vietnam, and instead of reading these pieces, she performs them through storytelling.

I just think it's great how Asian-Americans are able to share and be appreciated for sharing their life stories and experiences with so many. It gets the audience to realize that there are so many cultures, ideas, people...etc out there. Knowledge is unlimited, and Asian-American culture is very underrepresented. Props to those reaching out to the larger community to educate so many more.
