This is a great resource for educators of any grade! I first went to the “Literacy across the curriculum” link and you can choose the grades you teach. Once there, you can also choose a country and it will provide you with a list of titles you can get. I really like this because when I click on Korea, for example, most of the titles are folktale and fables from that country. I really think this would be a great thing to include in my 2/3 classroom. Another great link that the Asia for Educators site includes is a “Elementary Level resources” page. Click on that link and maps, lesson plans, games, and puzzles are at your fingertips. I really think this is going to help me with the lesson plans for this class, but also throughout the year, to integrate a piece of Asia here and there. I recommend you all check it out! One of the lesson plans this site includes is on the production of rice near rivers. It is written, or sponsored, by National Geographic and it will directly correlate with the influence on life when you live by a river.
