I agree with you, asian art is fascinating specifically how detailed and finite it is. I have always wondered why this style became popular if it seems to be difficult to do because of how thin it is and leaves no space for mistakes. Asian art has always seemed to be more of a visual story of what was happening during the time that it was made/drawn. As you suggested, I am going to use the art to get my students to write about what they see. Thank you.

The website, asianart.com provides so many benefits to students. In my opinion, students will be able to enhance their critical thinking skills. When looking at the art, questions such as: "What do this piece represent?", "What do you see?" "How does this art make you feel?", "Who do you suspect created this art piece?", "Why did they chose these colors?", etc. Students will open up their thought process to consciously think about these questions and provide an answer based on their own perspectives. Great website to implement art in the classroom through a PowerPoint lesson.

I love looking at Asian art especially now that I know some of the history behind some of the pieces. I have visited the Asian art museum in San Francisco and the Broad Museum in LA. Asian art is so fascinating. They have a website dedicated to that very subject called asianart.com. This site is cool because it is really an online journal for people who love Asian art. The first category on the site is Associations. This category shares a bunch of associations that provide tons of information on this subject. The second category is Exhibitions. This category lets you know which galleries are showing which Asian art. What is coming up, and where you can find it. The third category is Articles. In this area they have many articles that have been written about Asian art. The last main category is Galleries. This tells you how many pieces each gallery has and what they are. At the top of the website there is a list there is an index, message board, and frames. This would be a great website for an art class. It would also be interesting to teach writing about art or showing an art piece and writing about it. Good Find.
