Thanks for the link. When I tried it was a bit glitchy and slow (although it could be my school computer and/or a bandwidth issue), but when it was working it had some nice reviews and essays.

The Asian Review of Books website specializes in publicizing reviews of books about Asia as well as, according to the website, “international titles of particular interest to readers in Asia.” Users can also access reviews from other leading international publications other than the Asian Review of Books. The site notes that professionals and others with expertise are reviewers who discuss books from an Asian viewpoint.
I find this website useful for teachers and students who want to do scholarly research from a book having to do with East Asia. Such students and teachers could review the book from this site during, before, and/or after reading a books being used for research for a paper, lecture, publication, etc. I myself used the Asian Review of Books website to review a book I am currently reading, “Jesus in Beijing” by David Aikman, and have already shared some content from that book with students. Recent book reviews on the site include reviews of Dikotter’s “Mao’s Great Famine”, Bickers’ “Scramble for China”, and Crossley’s “Wobbling Pivot: China since 1800”.
I have viewed the book review(s) from the old site which is
    http://www.asianreviewofbooks.com/arb/bygenre.php?file=review&genre=anf
    The new site is http://www.asianreviewofbooks.com/new/
Finally the site which directs you to either the original or the new site is

Glad you were able to find nice reviews and essays. I apologize for the site being slow; that may be due to the site undergoing transition from its old site to a new one. As indicated on the first posting, you can go to the web address that directs you to the new or old site, or you can just go directly to either the old or the new site from the address given for each.
