Half of the group is expected to locate and share information about linkages between California and China's three northeastern provinces (Liaoning 辽宁, Jilin 吉林, and Heilongjiang 黑龙江). One place to begin your search is http://uschinaexchange.usc.edu. You may find it easier to search using city names. In posting your information, please include your source of the information and then details about the exchange. When did it happen? Is it ongoing? Who (institutions, individuals) were involved? What was the focus of the exchange? Sister city relationships, state and trade delegations, academic links, and so on are good places to start.

Each trip participant is expected to post information about one link prior to our departure.

From Seattle to LA, there are different places to view and admire Asian art on the West Coast. One place I like is the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco. They have done a great job collecting and displaying art from all over Asian. Not only do they have ancient art from the region, but have more current collections too. Currently, they have a modern exhibit from Chinese artists. One of which currently lives in Beijing. Ai Weiwei has done some really interesting pieces and a quick google search shows you some of his most popular pieces.
