NPR has launched a special series page titles China Unbound. This pages articles focus on China’s global influence. It outlines China’s past in relation to contemporary issues. A particularly interesting story was one on a large portion of people in Pakistan learning Chinese. In Pakistan learning Chinese is not only a cool trend but also seen as a way to a better life. China is investing much and has many job offering in Pakistan so many are learning Chinese to have access to these opportunities. I also like this website because along with the article is a broadcast that gives the story a more human experience. For students, they can listen and have the transcript to follow along with when researching current events.
