china one child policy is a right step of china gov even though it is causing quite a lot of social problems. In the future, say about 10-15 years when the economics has developed and stable enough, i believe they will be less strict about this problem

I was in China last year and had lunch with a professor from Peking University. I asked her what would happen if she had another child. She said she would lose her job. Another woman told me that when twins are born, the Dr. chooses which will live. These stories were told to me as a matter of fact. I thought I heard myself gasp.

Attached is a three-day lesson plan addressing China's One-Child Policy. It uses many concepts from Human Geography, but it would be accessible for students in other classes, too (such as World History, Asian Studies, etc.). I hope someone out there finds this useful!

This seems very informative and analytical. Do you have any ways to spice it up? It seems a bit dry. Sorry. I'm just saying from an creative, kinesthetic and visual learner, it's difficult to stomach a lot of information like this without concrete examples and explanations. Maybe you could have them create something for the presentation, like a poster that would show their views in China about the one-child policy. Maybe create imaginary journals of people who live in China who have children or who want to have children.
