My lesson will concentrate more on culture. The first two will introduce students to Taiwan at a glance. The third one will introduce them to indigenous tribes. The fourth one "food around the world" (lesson plan not provided) will talk about various food. I'm extra excited about this one because I am using pictures from our tour at various night markets.

Does anyone have a good article that summarizes 'Cross-Strait' relations that is also accessible for 10th graders? I'm struggling to find something for this very important part of my lesson.

Mayra and Jillian- Great lessons! I enjoyed reading both of them.

My goal was to include as much experiential and research learning in these four units as possible while still retaining a solid core of factual knowledge about northeast China and its history. I would appreciate your advice on how to connect the units to current standards.

    Good Morning!
I have been revising my curriculum unit since the presentation. You will find a more refined draft (still) below. The pdf version of "Winter's Night" is forthcoming (I need to scan it and upload it.). Thank you for your continued patience!

    Nikki
