The website I found useful for middle school students in call Ducksters.  It covers many different topics and makes it easy for students to follow.  They are short articles that summarize important information, and student can even have it read to them.  I use it to highlight and simply the information I want them to know.  For this class, I will use it to cover the Forbidden City.  It covers information such as when it was built, why it was built, features, the layout, and the symbolism behind the Forbidden city. They also have the option to go further and click other links that will cover other topics within the reading.  There is a short quiz at the end of the reading and that is also helpful.

I also use the website https://edpuzzle.com/search?q=forbidden%20city

EDpuzzle is another good website for students.  The website provides many different videos in which students are able to watch and answer specific questions.  I use this when they learn about the Forbidden city.  It is one thing to read about it, but the videos allow students to actually see it and enhance their learning.  For example, when we discuss the authentic architectural styles, they are able to see it.  To see it really brings understanding to the thought and attention to every detail that was put into building such a symbolic city.
