    I held up my DVD of a very nice Japanese-Chinese film called Riding Alone for Thousands of Miles. It's about an older Japanese man who realizes he wasn't a good father and is kind of a stone hearted person, so he sets out to reconcile with his son who was working on filming a traditional Chinese opera star, and winds up having a second chance at being a fatherly person and risking vulnerability. There are some very interesting scenes in China: a prison, the traditional opera, a rural community, and the great stone forest. There is also some very good acting in this film, especially by a Chinese actor. Fine film for kids too.
