easy reading about Viet Nam

I just discovered a marvelous book entitled, "The Lotus Seed" by Sherry Garland, published by Voyager Books, a subdivision of Harcourt Brace and Company. It takes place in Viet Nam and tells the story of a young girl and it continues through her fleeing her war-torn country and arriving in a new country and goes on. My students enjoyed it as many of them were able to identify with fleeing from their homes.
