The attached handout introduces "encounters," role-playing simulations that I've used with university students for many years. Please use this section of the forum to discuss the pros and cons of such activities or to suggest simulations/role-playing activities that you have used to teach about Asia or to ask about Asia curriculum topics that you'd like to brainstorm on simulations for.

I was thinking about using simulation and role play by dividing the class in two groups. One represents Ban zhao and her ideas about humility, hard work, ,devotion and purity and the other representing Feng yan's wife. Why is the wife behaving the way she does? what are the consequences of her behavior .Does Mencius' mother follow the same code of conduct as the one outlined by BanZhao_? Where do they differ?
