Columbia University's Weatherhead East Asian Institute offers the Expanding East Asia Studies website for course ideas and teaching materials. Primarily the site has syllabi and teaching materials for postdoctoral purposes. This should not deter high school teachers from using the site. There are great ideas for reading, writing, and activities that can be adapted for the high school classroom. The categories for teaching materials: Asian American Filmography, Asian Revolutions in the 20th Century, Asian Diasporas, Film, Gender, East Asian Economies, Contemporary East Asian Societies, sample assignments are offered, Philosophy and Religion, Government, Visual Arts, World History and Literature. A teacher can adapt the resources for high school classroom use, and some of the materials offer case studies format for inquiry-driven curriculum.
