    Hey all!
This morning I mentioned "The Spirit Catches You and You Fall Down" by Anne Fadiman. It is the touching story of little Lia and her family's battles with her epilepsy and the American medical system. It is truly one of the most moving pieces of non-fiction that I have ever read. I highly recommend it!
But don't take my word for it! If any of you have read the book, please throw out your reviews! I'd love to hear what you think.
I was browsing around and I found a website that's offering a free copy of the book. The offer expires tomorrow (8/6/04), so if you're interested, you'd better hurry!

I found this book on my shelf today! If anyone wants to borrow it and bring it back to me by Thursday, please let me know. I actually read parts of the book for an Education course back in college. We touched upon a couple of topics such as communication, cultural values and cultural sensitivity. I definitely want to read this again just to learn more about Hmong culture (since it was briefly mentioned in class today). I don't have any Hmong students, but having more background could help me in becoming more culturally sensitive.

If the offer still stands, I would love to borrow the book over the weekend, thanks!
