Thank you for posting this. I have figured out a way to implement some of the information from the program, but I definitely will be limited to what I can include. I may have to talk to the history teachers to see what they cover so that I will not only reiterate information needed to understand the reading selections in my class. Thanks again!

After reading “Japanese American Internment: What have we learned?” I searched the web for a quick resource to assist in implementing sections of the book in correlation with Anne Frank. I am at a dilemma now as to what resources I will use in my lesson plan. I found the Best Notes.com Farewell to Manzanar, http://thebestnotes.com/booknotes/Farewell_To_Manzanar/Farewell_To_Manzanar01.html. This is my new best friend. We discussed how it might be difficult for Language Arts teachers to implement all the information we received at the institute. This web site analyzes each section of the book by literary devices. This reference will make it easier when I read the book to see which sections I will include in my lesson. I talked before about how my students cannot grasp the realization of concentration camps. It is difficult for them to understand the cruelty that went on. The book will ignite wonderful opinions and conversations that the US was just as cruel as Germany.
