    NCTA is pleased to announce the Freeman Book Awards for 2016!
    We are pleased to announce the 2016 winners of the Freeman Book Awards - recognizing quality books for children and young adults that contribute meaningfully to an understanding of East and Southeast Asia.
    [font=" open="" sans"]This is the inaugural year of the award, presented by The National Consortium for Teaching about Asia (NCTA), the Committee on Teaching about Asia (CTA) of the Association for Asian Studies (AAS), and Asia for Educators (AFE) at Columbia University. [/font]

    Call for Submission of 2017 Titles
    The submission process for the 2017 Freeman Book Awards is now open. Books on East and Southeast Asia published in 2017 are eligible and deadline for submission is August 15. Language of publication may be English or any one of the East or Southeast Asian languages, as long as there is English translation. For books still in production, please mail reviewers the final drafts. The decisions will be announced by November 1. Information on the submission process can be found here.
