I like to have ELD students study the 5 themes of geography as laid out by the National Geographic society. It focuses on movement of people and resources and products, human interaction with the environment, and dimensions of geography such as location, place, movement, human-environmental interaction, and region. This is the strategy that I want to use in my high school history classes. I will bring one of their posters to class this week Nick

The Zune concentrates on being a Portable Media Player. Not a web browser. Not a game machine. Maybe in the future it'll do even better in those areas, but for now it's a fantastic way to organize and listen to your music and videos, and is without peer in that regard. The iPod's strengths are its web browsing and apps. If those sound more compelling, perhaps it is your best choice.

This lesson plan was developed after my school decided to add geography as a ninth grade elective. It was designed as a support class for the 10th grade world history so I designed the lessons to not only teach geography, but also touch on some events that the students will be covering in the World History class. So far, I am unable to upload the articles I reference in the lessons, but I did note which sources I used.
