This is one of my favorite movies! It's also a lot of fun to do a mini-marathon with this movie and The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, the movie it's loosely based on.

The movie is set in the Manchurian desert in the 1930's. It starts with a train robbery and different Korean bandits and a Korean bounty hunter looking for a map. One bandit ends up with the treasure map and all the others chasing him for it. The main group of bandits has an assassin leader.. who reminds me of Prince..he kills his father and anyone else who is not compliant. The movie is fast paced and gory, really violent..Did I mention gory? Towards the end of the film, there is a chase scene that goes on forever. The bandit with the map is being chased by everyone including the Japanese army!!! In the end, there is a bloody shootout and you have to see it..to believe it..

The movie could not be used for any age group, but for background knowledge of the environment and time period ..maybe..
