I am going to introduce my students to imagery and the power of images and the five senses. I will follow with background information about the writers. We will sample various foods flavors and textures with eyes closed and eyes open and discuss. We will read haikus and annotate them as a class on the whiteboard. I project the poems using an Elmo. We will then answer the questions from the Holt textbook and follow with using the haiku creator website to create our own haikus and tweet them out to the world.
