This site may interest students because it allows them to follow another student as she undertakes a research project into Japanese wooden boats of the Tokugawa era. She outlines her interest in the field and takes us to Japan with her as she works on her master's thesis. She began the effort in Jan. 2007 and finished in April 2010. She learned a great deal and created some interesting resources, including an annotated Google map.
