Very interesting show on KLCS tonight. A western woman hikes across Japan and films a documentary of a Japan few westerners ever see. She did a story on Osaka's homeless. It was very interesting how easily the Japanese related to her. She travels by foot and with backpack. The show was called Japanland.

She also covered a tuna auction and a peach harvest.

She also covered what it was like to stay overnight in a "capsule" hotel, with rooms so small you can only lay down to sleep.

Was the woman Karin Muller? She wrote a book called: Japanland: A Year in Search of Wa. I haven't read it yet, but it popped up on Amazon in a search I was doing. It sounds really interesting.
