Last week we celebrated Chinese New Year in our Library by sharing stories about Chinese dragons. We also had a display and bulletin board. Students created pictures of their zodiac signs for the bulletin board and younger studenta drew thwie idea of a dragon.
This is one of the many New Years we examine in our library. We also explore the Jewish New Year in the fall and the Persian New Year in the spring. Chinese, Jewish, and Persian New Years are all based on lunar calendars. Our students look at the differences between lunar and solar calendars.
