In order to honor teachers involved in global education, the Daekyo Foundation has created an annual award. You apply for it yourself and seek recommendation letters. The educators selected receive a $15,000 cash award (yes, really) and an all-expenses paid trip to South Korea. Mary Connor, a long time Pasadena teacher who heads a program to train teachers on Korea, was one of the educators honored with an award last year.
