A lot of resources are available through the National Education Association (NEA) Teaching API Month for K-5 http://www.nea.org/tools/lessons/teaching-api-month-k-5.html. Among the lessons that are present on the page, there is a strong focus on the art and history of the Pacific Islands. There are ready to go lessons for teachers interested in teaching about Japanese Internment, Hawaii, Polynesian Medicine Sticks and Rapa Nui (Easter Island). In teaching about the other countries of Asia, one of the more helpful websites linked to the NEA site is the education.asianart.org site. This website requires a great deal of navigation, but is very rich in resources and boasts different lessons, lectures, and videos at a range of different levels from elementary to college. I would definitely recommend using the filters on the left side to find what you need to find. I was pleasantly surprised with the fact that durations, details, recommended grade levels and regions are all available. Concerts and even even exclusive exhibitions are also featured too. In supplementing the content of a standards-based class, these two websites definitely offer a lot for avoiding units in Asia from getting too dry.
