    Loved the print of the modern Japanese woman, thanks for the website, I'll try to print it and get others like it. Its a great image for use in my visual arts classroom since most of what were are doing is traditional stuff. I too will be having my students make a 1000 cranes and talk to them more about the horrors of war. I really enjoyed Notehelfers lecture; his bredth of knowledge on the subject is awesome.

    I found a great website that talks about the art of the meiji period. Most art historians discuss how japanese art influenced the artists of europe at that time. This website discusses the influence of western art on japan. It shows some art and art objects that relate to the discussion. I found it to be very interesting. eruonet.nl/artnv/japart.index.html
