PBS has developed a website on Chinese history for use in the classroom. It has an interactive timeline that I find to be very helpful, it has videos and photos that explore culture, people, and events going back to Pre-historic China. There is a map portion page that shows what China’s borders have looked like throughout the years. There is also a fun little quiz that I think the students might enjoy, the quiz allows the student to answer some questions that will allow them to see what emperor they are most like. There are plenty of photos of Chinese culture and life available, along with a bunch of videos that are very useful.

I highly recommend browsing the site and seeing what you can incorporate into your classroom. I know that next year I will be using the timeline and map features in the introduction to my unit on China.
