    Hello Everyone,

I hope you are all excited about your summer in Shanghai. I'm looking forward to meeting everyone at the orientation on April 29. We'll go over everything you'll need to know for your trip and hopefully answer any questions you may have. Please feel free to post to the forum and discuss your plans and how you may be able to coordinate with your classmates. Simply hit "post reply" at the bottom of this message or start a whole new thread in the main page of this forum.

If you haven't already done so, I'd advise all of you to apply for your passports as soon as possible. Visit http://travel.state.gov/ to find out how to apply. It generally takes 4-6 weeks to process. You can pay extra to have this expedited.

    Take care,
    Linda[Edit by="Linda Truong on Apr 12, 8:27:19 AM"][/Edit]

    Hi Folks,

Since you're reading this, you've probably already got the forum figured out. But just in case you don't, we've got a handy guide, complete with pictures and step by step instructions. To download your copy, just click the icon below (a file in a vise). It's in .pdf format, so you'll need Adobe Acrobat Reader, a free program to open it. You likely already have it on your computer (it comes preinstalled on most machines), but if not, you can get a free copy at:

    Hi Folks,

It was great to see so many of you at the orientation yesterday.

National Geographic Traveler has a website with useful links on hotels and more. See it at:

    Hello Everyone,

Hadyn at Summer Sessions followed up on your question regarding gym facilities at the university. Once you receive your Jiaotong IDs, you will indeed have access to the gym on campus. However, the gym may not be as nice as you are used to. There are gyms just outside campus that may be better. I'm sure once you arrive, locals will give you a better idea of where to go.

    Take care,
    Linda
