It was great meeting everyone in person last weekend after having stared at your pictures for the past few weeks. This will be my first study tour. I've been to China many times before, but the northeast region will be new for me as well. I visited Taiwan over Christmas and I'm so excited to be going back. I can't wait to experience everything (good and bad) that China and Taiwan have to offer with all of you. See you at the airport!

    Hi Folks,

Let's use this corner of the forum to introduce ourselves. I'm Clay and am looking forward to this adventure. I've been living in and visiting China since 1982, but we're going to places on this trip that I've not visited. It will be great fun going there with you. I was born in San Diego. I went to school there and at UCLA. I taught at the secondary level for three years and subsequently taught history and East Asian studies at Berea College in Kentucky and other places of which we shall not speak . I enjoy photography, hiking, and movies and am addicted to my Kindle. I have had the privilege of working with Venus and Catherine for years. Together we're working to organize a terrific experience. We'll need your help and cooperation at every step.

The picture of me on this page is from a study tour that included a nursing home near Xi'an. Please include a picture of yourself in your post (or as your avatar - mine is from a study tour that included Datong).
