I would like to recommend this web page to Chinese teachers.
http://www.chinapage.com/china.html
This page has picture of month, photo, character writing, calligraphy, stories, poetry, history, novels, maps, and other related teaching websites. I teach through TPRS method, and this web site gives me great resources.
Whenever I look at an educational website I am looking for good resources or links I could use to further enhance my teaching. http://bulldog2.redlands.edu/dept/AsianStudiesDept/general-teach.html is such a website. This site will give you resources on maps to finding documentaries or films. If you teach the Cold War like I do there is a link entitled, "Contempary Conflicts in light of the Cold War." There is even a section you can use called, "educational films in asia" and the description is as follows: "A compilation by Clayton Dube of UCLA center for East Asian Studies..."
I will definitely be referring to this site as I teach the Cold War this upcoming school year.
This is the site for the Japanese American National Museum.
I recommend this site for teaching Japanese culture, Japanese American history for K-12 and adults. This site can be used as the pre-visit orientation and education. Of course I strongly recommend you to take your students to the great museum. Also you can explore the surrounding areas, Little Tokyo, and have a wonderful field trip.
😀
Ahh . . . the delights of the internet! I am teaching a world history class this summer (2 more days) to tenth graders. I must say that the print resources provided to me through the seminar were very helpful to my understanding and dissemination of the Chinese, Japanese and Korean histories in the modern world. Although we did not retain a very large segment of time during the class to engage in modern topics, we were given beautiful books and article to hep us along.
One of the resources, the Education About Asia periodicalEducation About Asia has such a deep potential for contributing to the profession. Their website is a wonderful resource to any educator at any age level. How? Well, the website has a great set of links. If you go to theRESOURCE LINKS and click the button, you will finds a mashup of most of the pertinent websites devoted to helping educators teach about Asia. There are some fabulous links for the lower grades, but the middle and upper grade resources abound. It seems like this webpage can give us all information we can use. Also, it serves as a starting point for our own various interests. This site could also be used as a destination to create webquests for students, if wanted.
Another great aspect of tis site is the sheer amount of information linked to th epage in Asian languages. One of my favorite things is that the links offer the information not just in the unifying languages of east Asia, but the languages of south Asia and west Asia as well.
Happy surfing.
This is a link for more online Confucius resources. The site also includes a Chinese-English dictionary. Other resources include games like a map of China puzzle, jokes and humorous videos.

Children's Books by American Chinese Authors is an annotated bibliography that is on-line at the Alameda County Library.
http://www.aclibrary.org/kids/default.asp?topic=kids&cat=ChineseBooklist
Ten years old, it should be updated (is there funding for a second grant?). A lot of the books are in school libraries. Author Amy Tan is not included, but Lisa See (On Gold Mountain) and Laurence Yep are. I am not familiar with children's lit, so I do not recognize titles or authors, but I did recognize publisher's names. This is worth perusing.
The website has the application to visit the museum and is informative but is not for research necessarily. I was looking through the website for possible class visits that may be sponsored through some sort of program but there appears to be none. I have always wanted to visit the Museum with a group of 6 or 7 students and this year I may apply for grant money that may help assist with the costs of taken such a group. If the visit becomes a reality then I would not use this website for pre-trip research. The site is only for the basic of questions.

This site is in Chinese. Chinese paper art design has been popular in China for many years. This site can be used in art class, as well as in Chinese history, social studies, and Chinese language art class. Notice how delicate the designs are and how they reveal Chinese culture and daily life.
