Here's a link to a video I have used in my US History class when teaching about US imperialism in the Philippines: http://ashp.cuny.edu/ashp-documentaries/savage-acts/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">http://ashp.cuny.edu/ashp-documentaries/savage-acts/ It's great and has a good viewer's guide (PDF) too.

This video is part of a series of videos from the American Social History Project (City University of New York) http://ashp.cuny.edu/ They produced two excellent volumes called "Who Built America?: Working People and the Nation's History" that are great supplementary texts for teachers.

    enjoy!

Let's use this corner of the discussion board to pass along recommended websites. Please be sure to describe the site's contents and whether you consider it useful as a reference for teachers or for direct student use.

Before adding a resource, please scan those included here. If someone has already suggested the resource, reply to that post and offer your own point of view. Perhaps you see a strength or shortcoming others did not or perhaps you anticipate a use they did not. Also - many websites expand or improve over time and deserve a fresh appraisal. Others fall behind and are no longer "the places" to go or to send students. In short, share what YOU think.

Please help readers by putting a short label for your resource in the subject line. Examples:

Japanese Art Gallery -- web resource

    Vietnamese Water Puppets -- web resource[Edit by="Clay Dube on Mar 8, 1:10:51 PM"][/Edit]
