Website Title: Recorded History
Website Address: https://recordedhistory.net/china-history/
Classroom Use: I believe that learning should happen in a multitude of ways. The best learning is that that comes through different modalities and forms. To that end, I provide my students with information in all kinds of ways. This website contains a podcast called The China History Podcast, along with other history related podcasts. What I appreciate about this website is the in depth information presented by knowledgable historians, authors, and presenters. I usually use podcasts in my classroom as extra credit assignments. The kids can look for topics that they have interest in and can then bring that knowledge to class in a short paragraph summary and present it to the class as part of "Random moments in History". These happens once a week and it consist of 2/3 students sharing information on events in history that they find interesting. This helps students develop an innate curiosity in learning. Recorded History allows students to look at all kinds of topics in History. The China History Podcast is amazing for students in AP classes that want more information and details than that provided by textbooks. They are able to look at the different topics and choose whether they want to listen to a whole series of podcasts on a topic or to focus on a specific part of the topic.
