I found this website had a plethora of information on Asia, and a bunch of specific lesson plans, as well as several relating to art.

In particular, I would use the "attitudes toward nature in Taoist art" lesson to help students understand the philosophies of Taoism. Also, the lesson on Mandala painting provides alot of useful background information.

I found this website to be an incredible source of images. The prices seem reasonable, and I am considering acquiring a couple of the disks to help my students with their writing. The quality of the images is first rate, and their beauty breathtaking. Thanks for posting this website.

It's my opinion that we can learn a lot about of the culture from other countries through our common interest and need for food. I don't cook but find myself attracted any type of cuisine that is exotic and appeals to my taste buds. Before you know it, conversations are started, and I don't think my students would not be interested to some type of "cultural day" that includes literature, music, and maybe one or two "treats" based on an East Asian recipe... Any one for Spring Rolls or Mango with Sticky Rice?
