Hi everyone My name is Taylor Bub and I teach 11th and 12th grade students at Kennedy High School in LAUSD. I teach anatomy and physiology and sometimes Biology for 9th grade students. I am excited to learn about East Asian Origins. I think it is so important for all of our teachers (no matter the subject that they teach) be educated in different cultures. I am looking forward to the things I will learn in this class and will definitely share them with my advisory students!

Hi y'all!
I am Guadalupe but my prefered name is Lupe. This is my second year as a secondary Art teacher so I was given the luxury of a "traditional" teaching setting for my student teaching and half of my first year before we went into quaratine. Crazy times we have all found ourselves in! In my art class I enjoy focusing on cultural Arts from the Americas but am now branching out to itroduce cultural artwork of the world. This is why I am excited to be part of these course. It will allow me the opportunity to learn cultrual and historical backhround of Asia that I can introduce aling with the art form.

Hello all,
My name is Liana Reed and I am an elementary special education teacher with LAUSD. This is my third year teaching and I enjoy learning about new ways to help keep my students engaged and be independent, lifelong learners. Although this year of teaching has been the most challenging, I feel grateful that I have been afforded the opportunity to challenge my instruction as an educator and gain tools and knowledge that will be invaluable throughout my career. I look forward to delving deeper into learning more about Asian history and am looking forward to meeting you all.
Hello. My name is Miguel Diaz. I am currently teaching grade 4 at LAUSD. Before I returned to the Los Angeles area in early 2020, I spent over 17 years living and teaching in Asia. The majority of my teaching years were spent in China, however, I also spent about half a year teaching in Japan and one month in South Korea. I have taught students ranging from grades 1-10. For the past eight years, I worked at a small private school in Shanghia, China where we taught advanced children's literature and writing. I would like to continue to learn about Asia so that I can share all the wonders with my students.

Greetings Fellow Educators . . .
My name is Jeannine Kuropatkin and I currently teach Pre-AP World History & Geography and an elective course of Holocaust Studies at Red Mountain HS in Mesa, Arizona. I have been at RMHS for the past 4 years; previous to that I taught 23 years of Social Studies at the Junior High level (grades 7-8-9) including courses of World History, World Geography, 8th grade Social Studies, and US History. Over the years, I have participated in numerous Workshops, Conferences, NEH Summer Institutes, Fulbright-Hayes GPA, NCTA programs, and Korea Society Fellowships related to Asian history, culture, and geography. I have done travel-study mostly in Asian countries of Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Bahrain, Qatar, UAE, and Saudi Arabia. For as long as I can remember, I have had an inner passion to learn about world cultures with a strong propensity towards cultures of Asia, Oceania, and Africa.
I look forward to learning, networking, and engaging with like-minded educators. Always interested in new strategies for making global cultures, history, and geography come alive in the classroom.
