Hi Folks - please use this corner of the seminar forum to tell us a bit about yourselves. I'm Clayton Dube and work with Catherine at the USC US-China Institute. I first lived in China in 1982-85. It was a teacher who excited me about Asia. I had virtually nothing about Asia in my social studies or language arts classes as a secondary student. The closest we came was a passing reference to Marco Polo in sixth grade, a school Jeopardy question about China in ninth grade, and some World at War films at the end of eleventh grade. But as an undergrad, a teacher introduced Asian civilizations and dynamic 20th century developments (yeah, I was a student in the last millennium) that fascinated me. I have been a teacher for a long time and taught at the secondary levels, before heading back to school and teaching college students and teachers. I love travel, photography, and reading. I'm looking forward to getting to know you folks.
